Visitations at PopFest

The Visitations–aka Davey Wrathgaber–is debuting Side A of the new album The Conundrum Tree as a MySpace exclusive. Davey spent a few years as one of the creative contributors of Fablefactory before the band’s split, at which point he began releasing solo recordings under the Visitations moniker: first the self-titled album on Happy Happy Birthday to Me, which combined UFO mythology with high-minded mysticism and bountiful sexual perversion; then, second, the self-released Propaganda, explicitly political. The new one, so far, sounds downright amazing. Side B should be posted soon, and hopefully some release date/label/purchasing information. The band also has a standout track, “Ms. Brown’s Robot,” on the new compilation Happy Happy Birthday to Me Vol. 4, which also features Casper & the Cookies, Ideal Free Distribution, and just about everyone who played this year’s Athens PopFest. I’ll be giving away a free copy of the album, so check back for details on your chance to win.
