The latest (March 28) issue of Entertainment Weekly features a pamphlet “bonus edition” inside the magazine, “Entertainment Weekly: The Indie Rock 25.” Sorting through the past 25 years of indie rock, EW picks the essential album for each year, touching upon Built to Spill, Guided By Voices, Belle and Sebastian, Pavement, Sleater-Kinney, the Shins, and many more. For 1998 the magazine astutely picked Neutral Milk Hotel’s In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Below is a scan. Thanks to Patrick for letting me know!
