I’m a day late with this because I was away from email yesterday, but here’s a reason to extend your Fourth of July celebrating: Thee American Revolution have made available a brand new song in honor of Independence Day, “National Parade.”  As you may or may not know, Thee American Revolution is the psych/garage rock band fronted by Robert Schneider, and “mentored” by the mysterious William Shears, a psych legend himself (he has been known to sit on a throne onstage while Robert sings his music).

Shears writes, “Thee American Revolution recorded this new song, entitled ‘National Parade,’ in honour of the Colonies’ historic secession from the British Empire. The group hopes that you might share it with the erudite readers of your Web Log on Independence Day, in order that they may rock.” Well put.

This song also continues an on-and-off tradition here–previous Thee American Revolution songs debuted on this website on July 4th include “She’s Coming Down” and “Powerhouse.”  I’m also pleased to announce that their long, long, long-awaited full-length (which has both of those songs), Buddha Electrostorm, will be coming out in November of this year from Garden Gate Records.  Photo by Daniella Maria.
