The blog Modern Mystery has posted a new interview with Casper & the Cookies‘ Jim Hix, in which he dishes just a bit on their upcoming album.  I’m curious about that song “Pete Erchick” (!).

Casper & the Cookies will be on the road for at least one leg of Dressy Bessy’s fall tour.  (Dates here.)  Dressy Bessy’s new album, HOLLERandSTOMP, is out September 16th on Transdreamer Records, and you can pre-order the CD or LP here. 

Casper & the Cookies have announced that they’ll be joining at least one leg of the upcoming Dressy Bessy tour.  So listed below is an updated list of dates, and take note that C&TC may be added to more shows of the tour, as well.  Since I’ll be seeing Tammy & the gang in Minneapolis, I’m crossing my fingers that Casper Fandango makes it further northward. The 10th annual Mask Project is a charity auction to benefit the Denver Hospice, featuring masks designed by hundreds of celebrities and artists. Dressy Bessy’s own Tammy Ealom is one of the contributors this year, providing the mask seen at left: the official Dressy Bessy mask.  (Click on the image to enlarge it, and you can see “Dressy Bessy” written into the goggles!)  You can bid on this online through May 30th, or view the masks in person at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center in Denver, Colorado, through June 1st.

Dressy Bessy is still at work on their fifth full-length album, due out this fall.

All right, so it’s not a wealth of new information, but the band has announced that they’re working on a new album; Tammy Ealom writes on the band’s MySpace blog: “DB is working diligently on a new album! We’ll be working with our friend Trent Bell, (check it out) in the beginning of November and hope to be mixed long before the end of the year … release date – yet undetermined …. 2008 for sure! Oh yeah!”

The album should be coming out on Transdreamer Records, which released the band’s last album, the critically acclaimed Electrified. Might we suggest that someone quickly put their back catalog back into print?

The band has a show scheduled for October 12 at the Mile High Station in their hometown of Denver, Colorado. The occasion is the Core Action Sports’ Winter Fashion Flurry: a woman’s pro skate competition, a runway fashion show, and a concert by Dressy Bessy! So first the Great Lakes play a fashion show, and now their pals Dressy Bessy do…is there a trend here?
