Pitchfork has posted its own coverage of last weekend’s Pitchfork Festival, and included in the coverage is an interview with Robert Schneider of the Apples in Stereo (and, much to my personal amusement, Robert’s manager Dan gets in there too).   You can read it here (scroll down a bit).

There’s also an interview with Jeremy Barnes of A Hawk and a Hacksaw (again – you’ll need to scroll down), in which he talks about his upcoming plans, including recording an album with Romanian singer Maria Ion.  On that same page (keeeeep scrolling down) is an interview with the lovely Griffin Rodriguez of Icy Demons, who just put on an impressive show here in Madison alongside AHAAH, performing on the lakefront.

There’s also great coverage of Pitchfork Fest at You Ain’t No Picasso, including the sets by A Hawk and a Hacksaw and Elf Power.

By the way, even though I said I’d gone fishing, I did actually update the Optical Atlas streaming jukebox a few days ago with new music by Icy Demons and older stuff from of Montreal, Olivia Tremor Control, etc.

As we previously mentioned, erstwhile Chicago-based Cloud Recordings artists Icy Demons (aka ex-Bablicon Griffin Rodriguez and Man Man’s Christopher Powell) will be playing the Pitchfork Music Festival this summer (along with The Apples in Stereo, Elf Power, and A Hawk and a Hacksaw); but it will also be part of a longer tour throughout the month of July.  The tour is in support of their brand new album Miami Ice, out now from Obey Your Brain.  Below are the dates:
