A new documentary on of Montreal, called Family Nouveau, will premiere at Chicago’s CIMM Fest (Chicago International Movies and Music Festival) on March 5th. This 45 minute documentary, directed by Spenser Simrill Jr., chronicles of Montreal’s 2009 European tour. Tickets are available at the CIMM website now. Here’s the trailer:

MIDNIGHT: A Celebration in Athens is being held on New Year’s Eve by the GROOP collective, and will feature numerous DJs including List Christee (Kevin Barnes) and DJ A Dot (Dottie Alexander) in addition to Krush Girls, Washed Out, Black Dominoes, and more. The event will be held at the Chase Park Artist Warehouses on Barber and Tracy Streets beginning at 9pm on 12/31. Tickets go on sale next week, and more details can be found here.

This week of Montreal descends upon Fashion Week in New York City. Tomorrow night (Wed. Sep. 16) the band is throwing a party at Santos including “a premiere of new songs, theatrical presentations by the of Montreal crew, and the debut of new fashion by Nina Barnes and artwork by David Barnes.” Win tickets here. Friday, September 18th, the band plays at Terminal 5.
The lineup for this year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest has been announced, and within the large roster you’ll find of Montreal as well as James Husband. Tickets are on sale now for the festival, which takes place November 7th and 8th at Waterloo Park in Austin, Texas. Head over to their website for details.
